The Rise of Online Swing Analysis: Golf Instruction Without Borders

There was a time when the only way to improve your golf swing was to stand on a practice tee with an instructor beside you. Whilst that remains one of the finest ways to learn the game, the modern golfer now has another excellent option: online swing analysis.

Over the past several years, remote coaching has become one of the fastest-growing segments of golf instruction. Better cameras, high-speed video, and easy-to-use technology mean that golfers can now receive meaningful, personalised feedback without needing to be at the same golf course as their coach.

As instructors, we've discovered something rather interesting.

When a golfer films their own swing, sends it across, and then has time to carefully digest the feedback, many actually become more engaged in the learning process. Rather than trying to remember half a dozen swing thoughts after a lesson, they can revisit the analysis whenever they like, compare swings over time, and work at a pace that suits them.

That doesn't replace in-person coaching.

It complements it.

For golfers who travel frequently, live outside San Diego (my home base), or simply have busy schedules, online swing analysis offers flexibility without sacrificing quality. Whether you're preparing for a club championship, trying to eliminate a slice, or simply hoping to become more consistent, expert feedback is now available wherever you happen to be.

Using the latest tech, I can help you improve your game remotely.

One of the things I've always believed is that good instruction shouldn't be about rebuilding every golfer's swing into the same model. Every player has different physical abilities, athletic backgrounds, goals, and available practice time. My job is to help you play your best golf—not someone else's.

That philosophy carries over perfectly into online coaching.

By analysing your swing frame by frame, I can identify the areas that will make the biggest difference, explain why they matter, and provide simple drills and practice plans that fit your game. Just as importantly, we'll avoid unnecessary changes that often create more problems than they solve.

Over the coming months, I'll be introducing online swing analysis through brianbobbitt.com.

The process will be straightforward. You'll be able to upload videos of your swing directly through the website, along with a brief description of what you're working on or the ball flight you're experiencing. I'll review your swing personally, provide detailed video analysis with voice-over instruction, highlight the key priorities, and recommend practical drills to help you improve.

Whether you're just beginning your golfing journey or you're an accomplished player looking to shave a few shots from your handicap, you'll receive the same careful attention that I'd provide during an in-person lesson.

Golf has always been a game of continual learning. Technology hasn't changed that—it has simply made great coaching more accessible than ever before.

I look forward to helping golfers from around the world improve their games, one swing at a time.
